They operate across the full energy value chain through various businesses, including British Gas, Centrica Hive and Dyno-Rod. Centrica employ over 20,000 people worldwide, supporting over 10 million customers. Their focus is on helping their customers to live sustainably, simply and affordably.

The Challenge

A company committed to developing its people, Centrica were looking into the critical skills and tools that their Managers of varying levels needed to drive their business forward. Financial, commercial and business skills were a key part of this.

The learning needed to be delivered in short bursts, available in more than one format and instantly impactful for their people, allowing them to immediately be able to apply their new expertise.

The Solution

Through expert partnering and collaboration from start to finish, we firstly curated e-learning content for Centrica’s in-house design team to programme into engaging, interactive modules.

We then designed a series of bite-sized, trainer-led virtual learning sessions that allow Centrica’s managers to easily slip some training into their busy days. Coupled with workbooks that include additional reading to further enhance knowledge, they now have a comprehensive solution that hits both their developmental and cultural needs.

The Result

The learning journey has already taken hundreds of managers at all levels of seniority from an introduction to the topics in the carefully written and designed e-learning modules through to practical application during the highly interactive virtual learning sessions.

The three core modules – Introduction to Finance, The Commercial Mindset and the Building Blocks of Business Success – are all designed to provide valuable, hands-on skills as well as the confidence and competence to use them in their own roles.
